  • It thrives best in warm, sunny growing conditions and therefore is suited to the more southerly regions of the UK.
  • Sorghum is a very slow establishing plant that does not begin to flourish until late July.
  • Dwarf Sorghum has a short, sturdy, broad-leaved stem and a substantial seed-head, providing birds with warm cover throughout the shooting season.
  • Often sown as a companion to maize with the bulkier, shorter sorghum plants giving protection to the birds below the taller growing maize plants
